The Kotuku team have been working on their ‘free flow’ poems. We developed a criteria together from poems we read in the School Journals
AWA
Its hungry tongue
tastes the salt
licks the fish
swallows the whitebait
at the rivermouth
So using a couple of other poems we pulled them apart and decided that :
Structure (Building your poem)
Selective Words (choosing only the best)
Personification (Giving non living things human like characteristics)
were good ingredients for a poem. Have a read of the outcome.
