Whanau and Tabloid sports day
To start the day we did Jump Jam…
Then we went back to class and got ready in our costumes to perform our Tahitian dance to welcome all of our Parents and Caregivers to our Whanua Day. We made our own pele (head pieces). The boys had feathers on theirs and the girls plaited flax and threaded pretend flowers through it. Thanks to Whaea Turi for helping us make these!
Then the Taonga and Kowhai class performed some Kapa Haka items….
Our Parents/Caregivers then came back to our class and had a look around at all our work we had done this term…
After morning tea we did our Reading programme and then had Tabolid sports with the whole school…
What a fantastic day!
