What an amazing day. The Taiaha Roopu with Matua Mike opened up the day with a challenge and the Kapa Haka conducted an awesome performance to support the whero. Mussel Fritters, Fish Chowder, Thai kai from THE THAI, lamb burgers were some of the food items on the menu. Heaps of fun activities for the whanau, bumper cars, water wheels, bouncy castles and even face painting! It was a very special day. Even though we have had great days previously this had to be the best, the music was sweet, the children’s performances (Kapa Haka, Jump Jam, Wearable Arts, Hip Hop and Christmas Carols) were wonderful and the general mood of the day was laid back and happy – Far North style! The Playhouses were sold making a good amount of money for the school. Thanks to all the amazing people who made this day possible, Mangonui has a special community.
